The Young African leaders Initiative (YALI) has argued against the possibility of the Zambian civil society falling in the trap of being controlled by international regime change state actors.

YALI president Andrew Nthewewe thinks that Zambia has been spared from the challenge where international state actors push for regime change.

Mr. Nthewewe says his organization is not aware of any international organizations or countries that are present in Zambia and would want to influence the August general elections in a negative way.

He says YALI has however taken note that one of the key elements that cooperating partners have done in the Country is to provide platforms for civil society organizations to educate the public accordingly.

Mr. Nthewewe says these platforms have always been to discuss issues people need to know about and not necessarily regime change.
