Masheke cautions parties against politics of violence

Former Prime Minister under the UNIP Government Malimba Masheke has added his voice in cautioning political parties against engaging in politics of violence.

General Masheke says political parties must heed to the counsel given to them by various stakeholders on need to end violence.

He says political parties should focus on issues and not violence, stating that politics of violence are the waste thing a country like Zambia with a history of peace should entertain.

General Masheke who is also Chairperson for the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Zambia Chapter has urged political parties to discuss policies that can help govern the country better.

He adds that political parties taking part in the forthcoming elections should focus on convincing the people why they should be voted for.

General Masheke has since implored political party leaders to publicly call for peaceful campaigns and ensure their respective party members heed to their call.
