Zambia on economic rebound – Lungu

President Edgar Lungu says Zambia’s economy is on its trajectory of rebounding because of various interventions put in place by his administration.

The Head of State said this in Lusaka last evening during the official opening of Alliance Motors Zambia’s US$3.5 million Jaguar – Land Rover Retail Showroom.

President Lungu says government has embarked on programmes aimed at reducing the cost of doing business through the implementation of various business reforms.

He says notable among the reforms is the industrialization and job creation strategy which aims at transforming the industrial sector by creating more than one million formal jobs in five years.

Mr Lungu adds that government considers the private sector as an engine for economic growth and development.

President Lungu says it is in this regard that government is committed to providing a conducive environment for business to grow and prosper.

Speaking earlier, Alliance Motors Zambia General Manager Andre Bonthuys says the company is humbled by the Zambian customers’ loyalty to its brands.

He says this is why the company has injected US$3.5 million in the state of the art showroom, offering top of the range services.
