The Press Association of Zambia (PAZA) has observed that the media is polarised in the coverage political parties ahead of the August elections.

PAZA Executive Secretary Patson Phiri says the Association has been receiving complaints from political parties on the biasness of some media houses in covering political activities during the ongoing campaigns.

Mr. Phiri, who is also Media Liaison Committee (MLC) Spokesperson, has told QTV News that a survey conducted by the committee and the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia Chapter has also revealed that some media houses are biased in the way they are covering political parties.

He says the findings further show that the public media is biased towards the ruling Patriotic Front, while the private media seems to be biased towards the opposition.

Mr Phiri states that this should not be the case as the media is expected to be professional at all times.
