Power utility company ZESCO has disclosed that 300 Mega Watts of power from Maamba Thermal power Plant will be coming on board this month.
ZESCO Spokesperson Henry Kapata tells QTV News that the power utility company has successfully finished all its installations and is only waiting for Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL) to finalize works on the plant so that it can start supplying power to the nation.
Mr. Kapata says there has been an assurance from MCL that the plant will be ready for commissioning this month.
He says this will add on an extra 300 Mega Watts of power to the national grid in an effort to deal with the current power deficit in the country.
