Women for Change call for issue based campaigns

Women for Change (WfC) has called on politicians to practice issue based campaigns instead of insulting each other during campaigns.

WfC Monitoring and Evaluation manager Shadreck Chembe says there is need for politicians to address issues which affect ordinary Zambians.

Mr. Chembe notes that poverty and gender based violence are some of the challenges which needs to be addressed by politicians as they campaign for the August 11^th general elections.

He furthermore notes that there is need for political parties to have an equal representation of women in the governance system.

He says governance is not only for men alone as women are also capable of contributing to a country’s development.

Mr. Chembe said this during a telephone interview with QFM in Lusaka today.
