ZANASU urges investment in Climate Change

The Zambia National Students Union (ZANASU) says the next government should invest heavily in climate change resiliency programs and alternative energy sources for the nation to overcome the current social and economic challenges.

ZANASU Vice President Prince Ndoyi says the current economic and social challenges which are as a result of both internal and external factors give Zambians an opportunity and propensity to reflect on the past and also prepare for the future.

Mr. Ndoyi believes the vision 2030 if followed religiously will steer the nation’s economic focus into a strong middle income country, thereby crowding out a huge chunk of the lower income households into an upper class.

He says Zambia does not need a change of government in order to deal with these challenges, but social and economic changes tailored towards a diversified economy into manufacturing, agriculture and service industries such as tourism.

Mr Ndoyi further states that the solution further lies in confronting inept policies.
