The Jesuit Center for Theological Reflection (JCTR) is happy that the content of the published Bill of Rights is a reflection of what it has been crying for.

JCTR Director Leonard Chiti says his organization is happy that the Bill has included people’s social, economic and cultural rights.

Father Chiti notes that the Bill has also retained both children’s and women’s rights.

He says the JCTR is therefore of the view that the Bill of Rights is fairly comprehensive as it has taken on board the rights the people of Zambia deserve to have in the republican constitution.

Father Chiti says the JCTR therefore supports the holding of the referendum on the Bill of Rights alongside the August 11 elections.
