Opposition Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) says there is need for the Church to remind political parties of the resolutions of the March interparty meeting on ending political violence.

ZED president Fredrick Mutesa says the Church should also explore whether there are any other initiatives it can come up with working with political parties to improve the political environment in the Country.

Dr. Mutesa has told QTV that his party finds it disheartening that despite committing to resolutions of the interparty meeting, political parties have continued perpetrating violence besides pulling down each other’s campaign material.

He notes that such a turnout of events is not creating an environment conducive for election results the people of Zambia are looking forward to.

Dr. Mutesa has since appealed to political parties to contribute to creating a peaceful political atmosphere in the Country as they go about their campaigns.
