Adoption of candidates who lost interviews worries YALI

Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) says it was a disrespect of people’s will for political parties to adopt candidates who lost during their internal primary elections.

YALI President Andrew Nthewewe says it is in fact a mockery for political parties to impose candidates on the people.

Mr. Nthewewe says his organization believes that political parties should have courage to respect the will of the people as such decisions are what also help in preserving peace and stability in the Country.

And Mr. Nthewewe has expressed disappointment that a lot of youths were left out during the adoption process a situation he says is frustrating.

He says YALI was hopeful that political parties will adopt more youths to contest local government and parliamentary elections that are due in August this year.
