Patriotic Front cadres have attacked the UPND Secretariat in Lusaka smashing windows to vehicles parked at the premises.
The PF cadres attacked the secretariat as they were coming from Mulungushi International Conference Centre where they had gone to give support to President Edgar who had gone to file his nomination papers.
And UPND Secretary General Stephen Katuka has strongly condemned the violent attack on the party secretariat.
Mr Katuka has since demanded that Police quickly move to arrest the culprits and bring them to book to send a loud and clear message to other would perpetrators.
He has also called on the PF leadership to bring their cadres under control immediately.
Mr Katuka says the behavior exhibited by PF cadres is dragging the country and the Zambian people down.
And UPND member Jonathan Nyangwe whose car was damaged complained over the provocative behavior by PF cadres.
He says UPND youths will be forced to retaliate to such provocative behaviour.
But when contacted for a comment, the Patriotic Front Lusaka province youth Secretary Stanley Chiumya accused the UPND of provoking the PF youth resulting in the clashes.
Meanwhile Southern for Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) has condemned the continued violence being perpetrated by the ruling party and the Opposition UPND.
SACCORD Executive Director Boniface Cheembe has since appealed to political parties to desist from engaging in violent acts.
