Alliance President Reverend Moses Lungu
The Evangelical Youth Alliance International (EYAI) has accused the opposition of sponsoring civil society organisations against the holding of the referendum alongside the general election.
EYAI Executive Director Moses Lungu has wondered why the same organizations that were calling for the referendum are now against it being held alongside the elections.
Reverend Lungu says non governmental organisations should begin to sensitize the people on the referendum instead of wasting time campaigning against it.
He states that this is not time to begin debating about whether the referendum should be held or not as the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has already indicated that it will be held alongside the elections.
Reverend Lungu adds that the country should hold the referendum alongside the elections so that the issue of the constitution is done away with once and for all.
