Mushota advocates for skill development

The National Council for Construction (NCC) says there is urgent need to look into the aspect of skills development in the construction sector even as the country focuses on industrialization.

NCC Executive Director Charles Mushota says contractors have a big role to play in the industrialization program, thus it is important that those in the industry are trained so that they have the necessary skills to put up quality works.

He notes that through industrialization; a lot of jobs will be created, but that if people do not have the necessary skills, they will not be able to deliver.

Mr. Mushota states that failure to provide skills development, the infrastructure projects that will be carried out may not be up to standard.

He has however reiterated that industrialization is the way to go for Zambia as this will help reduce the high unemployment levels in the country.
