The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has urged the Electoral Commission of Zambia to exhibit high level of impartiality in the upcoming general elections.

FODEP Acting Executive Director Mweenge Chimfwembe is reminding the Commission of its role in guaranteeing free and fair elections in the country.

Mr. Chimfwembe says the independence and impartiality of the electoral body will be key in safeguarding the integrity of the August elections.

He states that the concerns being raised by stakeholders on the voter verification exercise and the printing of ballot papers in Dubai should be given serious attention.

Mr. Chimfwembe says there is need for the Electoral Commission of Zambia to ensure the elections are credible.
