The Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) says it plans to bring together the two faction presidents in the MMD to try and resolve the leadership dispute in the former ruling party.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando says litigation will not help to bring peace and order in the party.
Mr Chilando says Zambians at the moment do not know who is the legitimate MMD President between Dr. Nevers Mumba and Felix Mutati.
Mr. Chilando has reminded the party that the current confusion may work against them during the August 11 elections.
He laments that the democratic principles and values upon which the MMD was founded are slowly being eroded.
Mr. Chilando says it is for this reason that his organization wants to bring the two leaders together and try to help them find a lasting solution to the leadership crisis in the party.
