JCTR opposes maize floor price

Jesuit Center for Theological Reflection (JCTR) Executive Director Fr. Leonard Chiti has observed that maintaining the maize floor price of K 75 will lead to farmers to abandoning the growing of maize.

Father Chiti says this is because growing maize is proving to be non-lucrative business.

And Father Chiti says maintaining K75 as the maize price is a mockery to small scale farmers in view of the economy challenges.

He also says maintaining K75 as maize price by government is a sign that government is not listening to the cries of the people.
