GBM pleads not guilty

UPND Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Mwamba has pleaded not guilty to four counts of assault, causing malicious damage to property and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.

Mr Mwamba who spent the entire weekend in Police custody pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Kitwe Resident Magistrate Malota Phiri this morning.

Mr Mwamba is facing two counts of assault, one count of malicious damage and one conduct of conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.

Mr Mwamba is accused of assaulting a vendor Moses Katongo when he visited Kitwe’s Chisokone market on 19th May,2016.

He has been granted a K20,000 bail with two working sureties.

Magistrate Phiri has since set 24th June,2016 as the date for the possible commencement of trial.
