Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga has refuted claims that police in Ndola yesterday released UPND Vice President for Administration Geoffrey Mwamba.

And Ms Katanga has disclosed that the UPND Vice President for Administration will appear in court tomorrow.

Ms Katanga has told Journalists in Ndola, that Mr. Mwamba will officially be arrested today over three dockets her Command is in receipt of.

She says the police were looking for him for almost three days after being served with call out but did not comply.

Ms Katanga says Mr. Mwamba was arrested yesterday around 15hrs for allegedly assaulting some marketers.

Meanwhile, UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says in an interview after visiting Mr. Mwamba that the arrest of his Vice President is an infringement to citizens’ Rights.

Mr. Hichilema says President Edgar Lungu has failed Zambians hence his act of panic over the growing support the opposition receiving.
