ECZ warned of post August elections conflicts

The Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue has called on the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to avoid post election conflicts by rescinding the decision to award the tender for printing ballot papers to the Dubai based company.

ZCID Executive Director Horrance Chilando says it is clear that political parties have rejected the choice of Al Ghurair printing and publishing company as the printer of the ballot papers.

Mr. Chilando says the Commission should therefore award the tender to another printing firm.

He notes that it is such things that bring about post-election confusion.

Mr. Chilando says ECZ should heed the concerns of stakeholders on the choice of the printer it has settled for.

He states that the commission will lose nothing by terminating the contract.
