ZED opposed to holding referendum alongside general elections

Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) says it is against the holding of the referendum alongside the general election.

ZED Spokesperson Wesley Miyanda, says the referendum should have been held separately considering that people do not fully understand the contents of the expanded bill of rights.

Mr. Miyanda adds that holding the referendum side by side with the general election will overload and congest the electoral system.

He has however, called for public sensitization on the referendum and the new voting pattern.
