The Executive Committee of the Football Association of Zambia (Faz) on Thursday appointed Ponga Liwewe as its General Secretary and Lombe Mbalashi as his deputy.
President Andrew Kamanga announced the appointments at Football House on Thursday evening.
“Looking at all possibilities, we have finally settled on Mr Ponga Liwewe as the new General Secretary of Faz subject to acceptance and signing of the contract.
“In addition we have got Mr Lombe Mbalashi as the Deputy General Secretary,” Kamanga said.
The position of General Secretary fell vacant after immediate former General Secretary George Kasengele’s contract ended on March 31.
The Faz Executive Committee subsequently appointed Katongo Kabungo on April 2 as Acting General Secretary until a substantive General Secretary was appointed.
