Maize floor price cheers chief Nsamba

Chief Nsamba of the Unga people

Chief Nsamba of the Unga people of Lunga district in Luapula province has welcomed the K75.00 maize floor price recently announced by Government.

He says the announced maize flow price will go a long way in reducing the price of mealie meal prices on the market.

Chief Nsamba explains that if government purchase maize from farmers at a high price, it will in turn sale the commodity to the millers at high price, a move he says will result in high mealie meal prices on the market.

And Chief Nsamba has hailed the initiative by government to put up solar powered milling plants across the country.

He notes that the initiative of solar powered milling plants will help make the mealie meal affordable especially in rural areas.
