UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has called on UPND Members to conduct peaceful campaigns ahead of the August 11th General Elections.

In his message to his supporters ahead of the campaign period which starts tomorrow, Mr. Hichilema has advised members to respect and guard the peace.

Mr. Hichilema has called on his supporters to resist provocation at all times and condemn violence in the strongest terms.

He says those witnessing violent and criminal acts are urged to report incidents quickly to police officers and party structures.

He says his call to members is to continue their efforts over the coming weeks and continue recruiting more members and reaching out to new people.

Mr. Hichilema says members ought to remember that the UPND’s strength is in unity and in the power of the message that they want to deliver economic liberation to all Zambians.

Meanwhile, UPND Chairman for Rural Reconstruction and Development Moono Mapani says it is unfortunate that Caritas Zambia Executive Director Samuel Mulafulafu is claiming that the UPND and PF are the most violent political parties.

Mr. Mapani argues that the UPND has been on the receiving side as the PF are the perpetrators of violence in the country.

Mr. Mapani states that records are there to show and prove that the PF have been attacking the UPND and that President Lungu should take full responsibility of the violence that occurs in the country.
