Wina urges civil exchange of views

Vice President Inonge Wina has called for civil exchange of views and ideas as political parties try to convince the electorates during campaigns.

Ms Wina says political parties and their candidates should exercise restraint and tolerance.

She says political parties should be allowed to campaign in all corners of the country without being restricted.

In a statement released to QFM News, Ms Wina says the use of words such as no go area has no place in Zambia, stating that every Zambian regardless of their social, political, religious and ethnic inclinations are free to move around and campaign in all parts of the country.

Meanwhile the vice president has reaffirmed the PF Government’s commitment to promoting gender equality in the Country.

Ms. Wina says President Edgar Lungu has already walked the talk in this respect by ensuring that the PF adopts up to 40% women candidates in the forthcoming general election.

She says the onus is thus on the women themselves to rise to the occasion and take advantage of this opportunity.

Ms. Wina was speaking this afternoon in Lusaka when officiated at the first ever PF women conference and official launch of the Women for Edgar Lungu party wing.
