Siamunene hails ZNS officers

Defence Minister Richwell Siamunene has hailed the proactive role the Zambia National Service (ZNS) has played in curtailing the smuggling of maize to neighboring.

Mr. Siamunene has attributed the recent flooding of mealie meal on the market to increased supply of maize on the market as a result of the policing of the illegal smuggling of maize by ZNS.

In an interview, Mr. Siamunene has disclosed that ZNS officers have been deployed at areas that were found to be porous when it comes illegal export of both maize and maize products.

Mr. Siamunene states that given the artificial shortage of mealie meal the Country had been facing, the ZNS officers will continue being deployed to all areas considered porous.
