Govt to disburse 2016 CDF

Local Government and Housing Minister Steven Kampyongo says the 2016 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation will be released during the second quarter of this year.

Updating Parliament on the disbursement of the 2016 CDF yesterday before it dissolved, Mr Kampyongo said the 2016 CDF allocations will be considered for disbursement in a phased manner.

He says government has not overlooked the importance of releasing the 2016 CDF, cognizant of the fact that CDF is a lifeline for people at the community level.

Mr Kampyongo says the release of the 2016 CDF allocation to constituencies remains a national priority to government in spite of the challenges the country is facing particularly the fiscal space.

And Mr Kampyongo has extended the appointment of the three local government administrators for Livingstone,Kitwe and Ndola city councils for a further period of 90 days following the earlier suspension of the three councils.

Mr Kampyongo says while the suspension of the three councils still remain in force, he has lifted the ban on the land agency of Kitwe and Ndola city councils to enable the local government administrators deal with genuine land transactions.
