Health Deputy Minister Chitalu Chilufya who is representing the country has also confirmed that Zambia has further been nominated to seat on the governing Board of Directors for three years.

Dr. Chilufya said Zambia’s endorsement was necessitated by the strength and experience of its specialized medical personnel.

He explained that Zambia had comparative advantage in medical research resulting from her bio-safety laboratories classified at level two and three hosted by the University Teaching Hospital and University of Zambia respectively.

Dr Chilufya states that it was after the technical assessment of Zambia that the board endorsed Zambia to formally host the CDC.

This is according to a statement issued by Naomi Chulu, first secretary for press at the Zambian embassy in Ethiopia.
