Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda

Government has urged farmers in the country to refrain from selling maize to private buyers before the minimum price is set.

Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda has advised farmers to safely keep their harvests until government opens market for the maize.

He says farmers are supposed to be responsible with their harvest this year than sale their produce that will not be allowed to export.

Mr. Lubinda says there is need for farmers to wait till he announces the marketing season.

He says he will announce the 2016 maize floor price for marketing season soon.
