Speaking shortly before the launch, President Lungu says such efforts are aimed at mitigating the power crisis that has hit the country due to low water levels in Lake Kariba for power generation.

President Lungu says the launch of the plant illustrates government’s efforts in solving the energy challenges the country is currently facing.

He has assured the nation that his administration remains focused to achieve the long term development in the energy sector.
