The Lusaka Magistrate Court has found former Information Minister Lieutenant General Ronnie Shikapwasha, Freelance Journalist Chanda Chimba III, and former Ministry of Information Permanent Secretary Sam Phiri with a case to answer in a matter in which they were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission for two counts of Abuse of Authority of Office on matters relating to the publication of the ‘Stand Up Zambia’ documentary.

Magistrate Obyster Musukwa has since placed the trio on their defence and they are expected to open their defence on 10th June, 2016.

In this matter, former Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Ronnie Shikapwasha, his former Permanent Secretary Sam Phiri, and freelance journalist Chanda Chimba III are jointly charged with abuse of authority of office, unlawful publication and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of a crime.

The trio was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission on 9th January, 2013.
