The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Kitwe District has praised the media in Zambia for their high levels of professionalism over the years.

Kitwe District PF Spokesperson Christopher Kang’ombe tells QFM News via telephone that the PF in Kitwe joins the media fraternity and the rest of the world in commemorating the World Press Freedom Day which falls on 3rd May 2016.

Mr. Kang’ombe says the party considers the media to be partners in developing the nation because at the centre of disseminating vital national information are journalists from both the private and public media institutions.

Mr. Kang’ombe says the media in Zambia has also been relevant in raising awareness on matters of exposing corruption both in the private and public sectors with vigilance since the emergence of multi- party politics in 1991.

He commends the private and public media on this score adding that the media in Zambia has been very brave and professional.

Mr. Kang’ombe says as the nation commemorate world press freedom day, the PF in Kitwe pays glowing tribute to the many men and women in Zambia who have diligently and professionally worked as journalists in the print and electronic media.

He has since urged those upcoming journalists to emulate those who served before them by remaining objective in their reporting.
