New districts well developed – Banda

Local Government Deputy Minister Nicholas Banda

Local Government Deputy Minister Nicholas Banda says the demand from people in certain areas for new districts is as a result of the development that has taken place in other districts.

Mr. Banda says most of the districts that were recently established have received unprecedented development.

He however emphasizes that the prerogative to make declare new districts is of the President and the ministry can only recommend and work when the president declares so.

Mr. Banda adds that roads, infrastructure projects such as government offices and other services have been taken to the newly created projects.

He further states that the decentralization program is going on well so far.
