Mbulakulima dismisses Nevers’ suggestion on constitution

MMD National Secretary Mwansa Mbulakulima has dismissed party president Nevers Mumba’s excuse that it is too late for the party to hold a convention before the August elections.

Mr. Mbulakulima says contrary to Dr. Mumba’s suggestion, the MMD has enough time to hold a convention and resuscitate itself before the general election.

In an interview with QTV, Mr. Mbulakulima notes that if the convention is held on the set dates of between 20th and 22nd May, this will leave the party with eight days before the nominations.

Mr. Mbulakulima says Dr. Mumba is therefore misleading party members by suggesting that it is too late to have a convention.

He adds that Dr. Mumba is in fact going against the plan which he was also part of in formulating clearly stipulated guidelines of how the MMD would go into this year’s general election.
