Speech for Growth has condemned Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali for accusing Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda of involvement in corrupt practices at the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).
Executive Director Wallace Kalungu says Mr. Tayali should know where to report corruption allegations and not to do so through the media.
Mr Kalungu has challenged Mr. Tayali to avail the evidence he claims to have on the alleged corruption at FRA to the relevant authorities so that the matte can be looked into.
He says civic society organizations should not take for granted the freedoms that they enjoy, stating that government officials also deserve respect, and not the way they are being accused and talked about.
He notes that this is not the first time Mr. Tayali is accusing Mr. Lubinda of something.
Meanwhile Mr. Kalungu has reaffirmed his organisation’s support to President Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front government.
And Speech for growth board member Kondwani Kapombe has advised veteran politicians in the country to mind their language to avoid putting themselves in trouble and in turn losing their respect.
Mr Kapombe says as an organization, they are saddened by remarks recently attributed to veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga with regards the rigging of elections.
