AfDB annual meeting preps reach advanced stage

Preparations for the African Development Bank (AfDB) annual meeting to be held in Lusaka next month have reached an advanced stage.

Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba has told a media briefing that government has recruited an event management firm which among other things is providing logistical support.

Mr. Yamba says Hotels have also been secured with 2, 630 bed space for delegates who will attend the annual meeting.

He also disclosed that the number of online bookings by delegates so far stands at 825 including 650 rooms reserved for the AfDB.

Mr. Yamba says government has further procured all security equipment and vehicles that will be deployed for security wings during the meeting.

And visiting African Development Bank vice president for administration Nnenna Nwabufo says the bank has taken note of the commitment Zambian government has exhibited to host the annual meeting.

Ms. Nwabufo says the bank is grateful to both President Lungu and the Zambian government.
