Govt urged to quickly operationalise constitutional court

Government has been urged to ensure the Constitutional Court is quickly operationalised.

The Zambian Voice Executive Director Chilufya Tayali says government should realize that people are eagerly waiting to see the Constitutional Court resolve many pending constitutional matters in the Country.

Mr. Tayali says if government therefore takes longer than necessary to operationalise the Constitutional Court, this could demoralize people.

He states that it is therefore incumbent upon the government to quickly move and ensure the Bill to operationalise the Constitutional Court is enacted.

Mr Tayali says there is need for the Constitutional Court to be operational before the August 11 elections.
