The Zambia Cooperative Federation (ZCF) has to date installed 100 solar powered milling plants under the Presidential milling Initiative.

This is against its midyear target of installing the 2000 units.
ZCF Director General James Chirwa says the installing of the 100 solar powered milling plants is a milestone as this will now address the issue of having high prices of mealie-meal prices in the Country.
Mr. Chirwa is optimistic that the solar powered meal plants will play a great role in satisfying the demand for the local market.
He says this is besides allowing the Country having enough mealie meal to export within the region.
