Evelyn Hone College launches ODF Learning Program

Evelyn Hone College in partnership with Astria Learning has launched the Open, Distance and Flexible (ODF) Learning Program to enable efficiency and High Quality training for the learners.

And Higher Education Minister Michael Kaingu is optimistic that opening up for open and distance higher learning institutions in Zambia will improve many Zambian’s professional qualifications.

Dr. Kaingu says this in turn will better their lives as individuals and the society at large.

He says government therefore expects that the launched ODF will also help raise the quality of teaching and learning and make education more relevant to national goals and aspiration.

Dr. Kaingu was speaking last in speech read for him by higher education Permanent Secretary Owen Mugemezulu during the official launch of the ODF.

Earlier Evelyn Hone College principal Daniel Fwambo noted that ODF will allow students to continue working and being productive while at the same time increasing their skills and attitudes.

And Evelyn Hone College Board Chairperson Fastone Goma says the launch of ODF is a testimony of the college’s direct support to government’s education policy.

And Astria Learning Project manager Jeff Bordes says everything done by Astria Learning is focused on making a tangible difference in the lives of learners, communities and nations at large.
