Mr. Hichilema adds that the President’s statement implying that some opposition leaders were behind the ritual killings was also careless as it could have incited the people to rise against some opposition leaders.

He says President Lungu should therefore take responsibility for the recent xenophobic attacks in Lusaka.

Mr Hichilema said this in Lusaka today when he received defectors from MMD, PF, NAREP and Rainbow Party from different parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Hichilema claims he has information that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has directed the Dubai based company selected to print ballot papers to deliberately make mistakes on ballot papers meant for UPND strongholds.

He adds that the ECZ also intends to deliver ballot papers to some polling stations in UPND strongholds late as part of an alleged ploy to manipulate the outcome of the elections.
