EFZ okays campaigns in church

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) says there is nothing wrong for politicians to campaign in the churches.

Reacting to President Edgar Lungu’s recent statement that he will not feel ashamed to campaign in churches, EFZ ExecutiPukuta Mve Director Pukuta Mwanza says politicians should sell their campaign messages to church members because they are also electorates.

Reverend Mwanza says church members have the right to choose the candidate they want to vote for.

He was however, quick to mention that the Church is there to give spiritual guidance and healing and not to be turned into a campaign ground.

Reverend Mwanza says churches should not allow politicians to distribute campaign materials within their premises.
