Govt will not tolerate graft at FRA, warns Lubinda

Minister of Agriculture Given Lubinda has warned that government will not tolerate any form of corruption in the sale of subsidized maize by the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).

Mr. Lubinda has since asked millers that have been made to pay extra to access the FRA subsidized maize to report to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Reacting to revelations by the Zambian Voice that the shortage of maize and increased prices of mealie meal in the Country could be as a result of the alleged corruption at FRA, Mr. Lubinda says government cannot allow activities that will be injurious to the Zambian people.

Mr. Lubinda states that government will not condone any activity that will lead to a hike in the price of mealie meal.

He says the current price millers are supposed to buy maize at from the FRA is K85 per 50Kg bag.
