Women movement urged to support women politicians

Governance Activist Maurice Malambo has urged the women movement in the country to be proactive in supporting women candidates with intentions to stand on various elective positions.

Mr. Malambo says some political parties have opened doors wide and have allowed women to have a fair representation in political activities saying it is up to women movement to support them.

He says what the women movement ought to know is that these women politicians are entering into a men dominated activity which require them to sensitize voters on the need to have more women in decision making positions.

Mr. Malambo says women will not be helped by conducting workshops for women politicians but go a mile further in sensitizing the electorates to vote for more women.
