Stakeholders calling for the suspension of holding a constitutional referendum alongside the general elections have been challenged to state a clear roadmap on how the independent referendum can be held.

Young African Leaders Initiative President Andrew Nthewewe says his organization proposed the holding of the referendum alongside the elections and gave a clear roadmap which government adopted.

Mr. Nthewewe says this is the only chance to adopt the remaining part of the constitution saying if this opportunity passes, Zambia will not see another one given the little resources the nation has.

He says people are tired of voting and that if this process is carried as an independent exercise, people may shun from voting.

Mr. Nthewewe says stakeholders opposing this idea should just go and educate the people to just vote for Yes if they want the remaining part of constitution to be included in the constitution or No if they do not want.
