Hate speech worries Islamic Council

The Islamic Supreme Council says is concerned that shortly after the political indaba, some politicians have continued to use hate speech.

Council President Suzyo Zimba says those political leaders using hate speech such as insults are exposing themselves on what kind of leaders they are.

He has encouraged Zambians to ignore leaders who are showing out their true colors through the language that they are using on others who do not agree with their opinions.

Mr. Zimba says it is sad that some leaders can delight in insulting and even proud of it citing that the country has made gains towards peace and hate speech has the potential to undo the gains.

He further states that politicians should realize that their language has the potential to either destroy or build their character.
