Police in Lusaka have refuted reports suggesting that Chunga Township residents today found two young men with human organs in a car and took them to the police.

Word went round that the ritual killers have being taken by C5 and that the residents camped at the police station accusing the police of not doing their work and they wanted to demolish the police station.

But Police Deputy Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga in a statement says no one has been found with any human body parts.

Mr. Hamoonga says it is a total fabrication of lies and that as the police service has stated that they are committed to resolve these crimes and should they apprehend anyone, they will not hesitate to inform the general public of such a person or persons.

He says as the police officers are on the ground working tirelessly to bring the culprits to book the police’s appeal to members of the public and press is that they should desist from spreading false rumors.

He has since advised the media to take time to verify information relating to these crimes with the police before they relay it to the general public.
