YALI Governance advisor Isaac Mwanza says his organization is aware that some civil society organizations want government to suspend the National Referendum on the Bill of Rights.

Mr. Mwanza says unless their intention is still hidden in the fact that they believe the August 11 election will usher in their preferred candidate, other than President Edgar Lungu, who must be credited with holding a referendum.

He says the country quickly needs to repeal article 79 and replace the same with provisions of article 302 and 303 of the Final Draft Constitution.
