MTN Zambia, Airtel Zambia and Zamtel are the three mobile service providers in the country.

Mr. Mulusa says competition by the fourth mobile service provider will force a reduction in the cost of communication and improve service delivery by the mobile phone companies.

He has cited network congestion, dropped calls and insufficient network coverage as some of the challenges faced by customers of the three mobile phone service providers.

Mr. Mulusa says he is simply waiting for six months ultimatum he gave the three service providers to elapse before government takes action.

He says government has been left without any option but to facilitate the entry of a fourth mobile phone service provider.
