NHA workers go unpaid for three months

Workers at the National Housing Authority (NHA) have gone with salaries for three months as government agencies owe the authority huge sums of money.

NHA acting Chief Executive Officer Waicha Ndhlovu revealed this when Special Assistance to the President for project monitoring and implementation Lucky Mulusa visited the NHA offices this morning.

Mrs. Ndhlovu says the Authority is K9 million by government institutions including the Ministries of Justice, Local Government and Housing.

She has since appealed for government’s intervention and help settle the workers’ arrears.

And Mr Mulusa who was on a tour of National Housing Authority properties promised to intervene in the matter and ensure workers are paid their salary arrears.

Mr. Mulusa has also called on the NHA to complement government’s efforts by building affordable and quality houses.
