PF stronger than before in Chongwe – Shawa

The ruling PF in Chongwe District has refuted media reports attributed to its District youth chairman Harry Kunda that the party in the District is weak.

PF Chongwe District secretary Nebert Shawa says contrary to the insinuation by Mr. Kunda the ruling party is in fact stronger in the District than ever before.

Mr. Shawa notes that this is given the developmental projects that are being undertaken by government under President Edgar Lungu’s leadership.

And Mr. Shawa has dismissed as not true the claim by Mr. Kunda that there is a preferred candidate to contest the Chongwe Parliamentary seat on the ruling PF ticket in August this year.

He says the party leadership in Chongwe challenges Mr. Kunda to provide proof for what he is alleging.

Mr. Shawa states that President Edgar Lungu has openly on different occasions said he has no preferred candidate and therefore the party leadership in Chongwe cannot do otherwise.

He says if Mr. Kunda is claiming that Zambia’s former envoy to Mozambique Japhen Mwakalombe was preferred he should also explain why the due adoption process was followed at all levels.
