Zambians youths advised to stay away from violent activities

Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) Coordinator Stephen Lyon has advised Zambian youths to stay away from violent activities.

Mr. Lyon says young people should desist from acts that could ruin their future, but instead live according to the commandments of God.

And Mr Lyon says the 16th Anglican consultative council from 8th to 19th April 2016 in Lusaka will be extended to discussions on environmental issues which are a major concern for many Anglicans, especially those in parts of the world where their very survival is threatened by the effects of climate change.

Speaking at media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Lyon adds that the consultative meeting wants to give young people a real voice.

The Anglican Church of the Province Central Africa is hosting the two-week conference under the theme “Intentional Discipleship in a World of Difference”.

Speaking at the same briefing, ACC Co-Chairman Cannon David Thomson has condemned the violence that has been recorded in the country, calling on Zambians to eschew violence before, during and after the elections.

Reverend Thomson notes that the Anglican consultative council is therefore timely given the rising incidents of violent in the country.
